How To Use

• Take simvastatin by mouth with food as directed by the doctor.
• Swallow the tablet whole with water.
• Do not crush, chew, or split the tablet.
• If you are using the liquid form of simvastatin, take it on an empty stomach.
• Shake the bottle well for at least 20 seconds before each dose.

Indications

This medicine is used for reduction of total cholesterol, LDL-Cholesterol, apolipoprotein B and triglycerides in primary hypercholesterolemia(high level of cholesterol), heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia(high cholesterol levels) or combined hyperlipidemia( high levels of lipids). Reduce the risk of mortality and non fatal myocardial infarction(heart attack).

Side Effects

Some patients may experience headache, abdominal pain and diarrhoea, constipation, muscle cramps, alopecia(hair loss), peripheral neuropathy(nerve disorder), anemia, hepatitis, myalgia(pain in a muscle), jaundice or rashes.

Contraindications
