Introduction
Tenormin tablets contain atenolol in it which is a beta-blocker. Beta-blockers are class of medications that are
meant for reducing blood pressure. They act by blocking the effect of natural hormone in the body i.e.
epinephrine/adrenaline. Therefore, Tenormin tablets are used for effectively treating conditions like hypertension
(high blood pressure), arrhythmia (irregular heartbeat), & angina (heart-related chest pain). It is also indicated in
prevention of future heart attacks, strokes & migraines.

Side Effects
Its side effects occur for a short period & are mild. Side effects like fatigue, dizziness, diarrhea (loose motion),

How To Use
- For oral administration i.e. via the mouth only
- Dose in adults depends upon the severity of condition, however, it can 50mg once a day dose or 100mg once a day dose
- Swallow the whole tablet with full glass of water
- In case a dose is missed, then take it as soon as you remember on the same day. However, if next day has arrived, then take only that day’s dose and don’t double it.
- Always ask pharmacist or doctor about the instructions of taking a medicine.
- Tenormin can be taken either with or without food.
- Take it at the same time each day for best effect

- Inform doctor of all medicines whether over the counter (like vitamins or herbal supplements etc.) or prescription medicines like calcium channel blockers (verapamil or diltiazem), dihydropyridines, digitalis glycosides, anti-arrhythmic medicines, insulin, or oral antidiabetic medicines etc. and various other medications, before using Tenormin tablet
- Inform doctor of all pre-existing disease conditions or health issues like kidney problem, heart rhythm problems (e.g. second or third degree atrioventricular block, slow heartbeat), asthma/chronic bronchitis/emphysema (breathing problems), blood circulation problems (e.g. peripheral vascular disease or Raynaud’s disease), myasthenia gravis (muscle disease), or heart failure that you may be suffering from, before taking Tenormin tablet
- It can make you dizzy or drowsy, so do not drive or perform other high-alert activities
- Limit or avoid alcohol consumption with Tenormin use

Precautions

(serious electrolyte disorder), second or third degree heart block, untreated pheochromocytoma (rare
noncancerous tumor in adrenal gland), hypotension, bradycardia (decrease heart rate), & severe peripheral
arterial circulatory disturbances. Inform doctor of its use before going for any surgery. Inform doctor of all
medicines whether over the counter (like vitamins or herbal supplements etc.) or prescription medicines like
calcium channel blockers (verapamil or diltiazem), dihydropyridines, digitalis glycosides, anti-arrhythmic
medicines, insulin, or oral antidiabetic medicines etc. and various other medications, before using Tenormin
tablet. Tenormin tablets should not be used in pregnant females & lactating mothers as it is unsafe. Not for use
in children
