Tenormin 100mg tablet is composed of Atenolol 100mg
Atenolol is an antihypertensive medicine that belongs to the class of beta-blockers. It works by blocking the
action of certain chemicals that helps to reduce the workload and heart rate. Atenolol is used alone or in
combination with other medicines to manage high blood pressure, chest pain (angina), and acute myocardial
infarction to reduce cardiovascular mortality. Hypertension is a common disease in which the blood pressure in
arteries is so high that your heart has to work more than normal. Continuous high blood pressure will eventually
cause serious health problems like heart attack, stroke, or kidney failure.
How To Use
Atenolol is available in IV infusion and tablet form.
IV infusion should be administered by a trained professional only.
Take the tablet by mouth with a glass of water.
Take it with or without food.
Swallow it as a whole, do not crush or chew the medicine.
Take it at the same time to help you remember.
Or use it exactly as instructed by your doctor.

Contraindications
Do not use this medicine if you have any of the following conditions:
- Hypersensitivity to Atenolol
- Sinus bradycardia
- Uncontrolled heart failure
- Heart block
- Cardiogenic shock
- Pheochromocytoma
- Metabolic acidosis.

This drug will not change bleeding tendency, or cause bleeding.
Will this drug cause changes in mood, body temperature, or energy?

Will this drug cause dizziness or headaches?
Headaches and dizziness are common and possible side effects of this medicine. To prevent dizziness, try to avoid getting up abruptly when you are lying down, or any other sudden movements. Avoid activities that require alertness such as driving etc.

What if I miss a dose?
You can take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If you remember when it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose entirely. Do not double your dose to catch up for missed doses.
